Airtek heat reactivated desiccant air dryers use the adsorption method to remove moisture from compressed air.Pressure dew points ranging from minus 40 F (-40 C) to minus 100 F (-73 C) are achieved by directing the flow of saturated compressed air over a bed of desiccant.The most commonly used desiccant is activated alumina, a spherically shaped, hygroscopic material, selected for its consistent size, shape and extreme surface to mass ratio.This physically tough and chemically inert material is contained in two pressure vessels commonly referred to as "dual" or "twin" towers.As the saturated compressed air flows through the bed of the "on-line" tower,its moisture content adheres to the surface of the desiccant.The dry compressed air is then discharged from the vessel into the distribution system.

The Smart Cycle computer eliminates hard wiring and contain a intuitive set of control instructions that provides for a level of precision performance not possible with the conventional systems of switches and relays.The controller simplifies dryer operation by automatically anticipating and executing the necessary operating steps.
A nonvolatile EPROM controls all operating functions.The electronics are protected from voltage spikes and electrical shorts by board mounted relays.

Airtek's award winning Smart Cycle and Cold Trap refrigerated air dryers come with Dual Mode operation. They can run in a full "cycling" mode or "non-cycling" demand mode.They deliver compressed air 2 times drier than conventional dryers with as little as half the energy.The standard control panel includes a digital Dew point Temperature Readout,with Diagnostic Display for alarms and protective shutdown annunciation.Common alarm and a dry contact signal:high dew point,low refrigerant,refrigeration system overload, sensor fault, and high/low refrigerant pressure.The panel also includes a Demand Drain Control and Mode Selector.Available options include:Control Centeer, dual hour meters, a PLC interface and a remote control panel.
